Kids App – COPPA & GDPR-K Compliant

B&B SYMPHONY LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the MathMinds mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you or your child uses MathMinds. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international regulations.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

MathMinds is designed for children under the age of 13, used under parental supervision. It is also used by parents and teachers to monitor and guide children's progress. This policy applies to all users of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the App:

Account information: Email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and role (parent, teacher, or child) provided during registration.
Child profile data: Display name, avatar/character selection, game progress, XP points, badges, and learning activity records.
App usage data: Lesson completions, quiz results, streaks, and mastery levels — used solely to track a child's learning progress.
Device information: Device type and OS version, collected only for technical support purposes.

We do not collect precise geolocation, real names of children, photos, videos, voice recordings, or any sensitive personal information.

3. How We Use Information

All collected data is used exclusively to:

Create and manage user accounts for parents, teachers, and children.
Display a child's learning progress to their linked parent or teacher.
Personalise the in-app experience (selected character, theme, language preference).
Allow teachers to assign and track homework.
Diagnose and fix technical issues.

We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

MathMinds does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase), advertising networks, social media SDKs, or data brokers. All data is processed solely by our own backend infrastructure.

5. Data Storage and Security

All user data is stored on our private, password-protected server infrastructure. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored using industry-standard bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text. We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose personal data to any third parties.

6. Parental Rights (COPPA)

In accordance with COPPA, parents or legal guardians have the right to:

Review the personal information collected about their child.
Request deletion of their child's account and all associated data.
Refuse further collection or use of their child's information.

7. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as the account is active. Upon account deletion request, all personal data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Children Under 13

MathMinds accounts for children are always created and managed by a parent or teacher. We do not allow children to register directly. If we discover that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
